Vocalist/percussionist Leonard Patton and pianist Branda Greggio play a duo set of jazz that stretches from the deep traditions to modern explorations including reimagined pop and rock songs. Leonard is one of the most acclaimed musicians in the Southern California scene and Brenda is a rising jazz star with many awards for her playing and compositions.

James Hubbell Window Art
Join us as we celebrate a newly installed stained art glass piece by artist James Hubbell at Alpine Library at 1:pm on Saturday April 13th. Donated by the Virginia Lambert family and Alpine Library Friends Association, the new art piece, titled “Rebirth,” complements the naturalesque architecture of the Alpine branch while showcasing the beauty of Hubbell designs.
Hosted by ALFA, the art reception will include music by The Caprice Strings, light refreshments, and a film screening of “James Hubbell: Between Heaven and Earth.”

Community Book Collection Day 1
Help our Alpine Library and Alpine Library Friends Association (ALFA) by donating books, DVD’s and CD’s to ALFA. All donations are tax deductible.
Collections will take place at the Alpine Library on September 9, 2023 from 8am-12pm.
Just drive up and we will collect the items (you don’t even have to get out of your car).

Baroque Lute Masterworks
San Diego State University Master of Music, Eric Dickerson, will perform music from Antonio Vivaldi and Sylvius Leopold Weiss on his 13-course Baroque lute.

Blue Creek Duo
Will Jaffe's (Dobro, Guitar, Banjo & Vocals) mastery on stringed instruments has brought joy to audiences for nearly 50 years. Susan Thoen (Bass & Vocals) studied classical mu-sic, bluegrass, and honky tonk, and uses all this to bring out the best tone, tempo and feel of every tune. Together, they bring it all to the party!

ODDVoX Duo
Guitarist/Vocalist, Jimmy Lewis, and Drummer/Vocalist, Rick Favale provide a unique acoustic, yet powerful, sound and perform songs by legendary artists such as Led Zeppelin, Ray Charles, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Otis Redding, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Cream and more! They perform all over San Diego.
The Alpine community welcomed a commissioned stained glass window donated by the Lambert Family and Alpine Library Friends Association and installed by Hubbell & Hubbell architects.
The April 13, 2024, event included informational displays by the Ilan-Lael foundation, catering by the Alpine Coffee Roasters, music by the Caprice Strings, guest attendance by Pre-Teen and Miss Alpine and Miss Mountain Empire, and included a film screening of James Hubbell: Between Heaven and Earth by Marianne Gerdes.
Speakers included architect and son of James, Drew Hubbell, stained glass artist and instructor, Cindy Mushet-Shriver, ALFA president Angela McMahill, San Diego County Library director Migell Acosta, and former ALFA president Christine Connell, who introduced family members of the late Virginia Lambert.
